It’s time for the monthly BirthGenius Twitter chat!
Date: Tuesday, September 19th, 2011
Time: 1:30 pm edt
This month’s topic:
Show Us the Evidence!
Earlier this month a study was published in Obstetrics & Gynecology that found that only 25% of OBGYN Guidelines are based on strong evidence. Then, on a popular birth/midwifery blog we saw this post where a midwife says, “Suddenly…..… I notice I don’t fit in the Natural Childbirth Community (NBC) anymore.” She’s speaking out after joining a NCB facebook group and being disappointed by the lack of evidence-based info being shared.
And we wondered: what do our BirthGenius friends think about all this? One of our main goals here at BirthSwell is to help spread evidence-based info packaged specifically for the 2.0 mom. And we want moms to be able to find it when they google “birth” so it needs to be search engine optimized.
So we want to know: What do YOU think about the evidence? How do you find it? How do you disseminate it? And how do you spread it? And what do you do when you see misinformation being shared on facebook or other popular social media platforms?
Let’s chat. Join us on Twitter on Tuesday at 1:30 pm edt and use the hashtag #birthgenius to join the conversation.
Hint: Tweetchat makes it super simple to participate!
